Thanks, I'm glad you like the "Contact the Powers that Be." :)
I couldn't remember the exact meaning of "meme," so I looked it up on UrbanDictionary.com (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=meme&r=f). Definitions four and five were: "in blogspeak, an idea that is spread from blog to blog" and "and internet information generator, esp. of random or countless information." I used to always wonder about it, too.
Yes, White Noise was terribly disappointing. I completely agree with you. It could have been really disturbing/frightening/upsetting/thought provoking...Instead it was just meh. I don't necessarily need to have paranormal stuff explained to me, because where's the fun in losing all of the mystery?, but I like to have at least some of it make sense. They should have better established the three figures. They should have gone into who/what they were, why/how they were doing what they were doing. I kept thinking there would be more with the EVP guy that got killed. They kept showing a picture of him and his son, so I got to thinking, "OK, so maybe he got into this EVP stuff because his son was killed? And maybe those three figures have something to do with it?" I just wanted some plot connection, y'know? (One of the things that made me pause the movie was when the mention the missing woman. My roommate and I were like, "what? what missing woman?") All in all, poorly executed movie.
Don't apologize with the getting carried away. I can't reply to anything without writing a novel. :)
